Each result shows the observance date, holiday name, faith, and a short description where available.
Holiday dates may represent a single day, the beginning of a longer festival or season, or a date used to identify a multi-day observance. The individual description and Holiday Reference provide additional context where that distinction matters.
Some religious days begin in the evening rather than at midnight. For example, Jewish observances generally begin the previous evening, and Islamic dates may also be understood from sunset. The civil-calendar date shown on the site identifies the observance in a practical calendar format and should be read together with the description when precise timing matters.

Why Religious Holiday Dates Change
Religious calendars do not all follow the same system.
Some observances are tied to fixed dates in the Gregorian calendar. Others follow lunar, lunisolar, ecclesiastical, or traditional religious calendars. Some are calculated in relation to another holiday, a weekday, a moon phase, or a seasonal event.
This is why the same holiday may occur on a different civil-calendar date each year.
Examples include Jewish and Hindu lunisolar calendars, the Islamic lunar calendar, Christian moveable feasts calculated from Easter or Pascha, and Coptic and Orthodox observances that may map differently onto the civil Gregorian calendar depending on the calendar used.

My Sacred Times intentionally limits its holiday calendar to a three-year period. The goal is to provide a useful planning horizon while maintaining confidence in the dates presented.
Some religious observances can be calculated far into the future, but others depend on published calendars, regional practices, religious authorities, moon sighting, or calendar conventions that may change or be confirmed closer to the observance.
Rather than publish distant dates that may later require correction, My Sacred Times focuses on a shorter period that can be reviewed and maintained more carefully. The available calendar is updated as new dates are added.
How Holiday Dates Are Sourced
My Sacred Times uses different approaches depending on the faith and observance.
Some dates come from established public calendar sources. Others are calculated using recognized calendar rules or maintained date lists. Moveable Christian observances such as Easter and Pascha may be calculated automatically, while other holidays are maintained according to their respective religious calendars and traditions.
